  • Ryan Langdon

    Country

In the spring of 2022, we lost a dear friend and an irreplaceable member of our community to their battle with mental health. The impact of this loss was deeply felt by everyone who knew them — a shared grief that left us asking what we could do to make a difference.

After time spent reflecting and honouring their life, we knew we wanted to take action. Our goal became clear: to raise awareness and funds for mental health research — to better understand the science behind why our minds struggle and thrive, and to support one another more meaningfully through the ups and downs of life.

Music has always been our way of connecting with the world. It’s a lifelong passion that’s brought us healing, joy, and community. Rock the Barn is where our love for music and our commitment to community come together. We’ve also been lucky to grow up surrounded by nature, spending summers at camp and experiencing the peace that the outdoors can offer. That’s why we’re proud to support Woodfield Nature Camps and RMHC-SCO, a new initiative giving families with sick kids the chance to experience the magic of summer camp at a beautiful 300-acre property in Muskoka.

Rock the Barn is more than a music event — it’s a movement rooted in connection, healing, and hope. Thanks for being a part of it.

Our mission is to provide support for Woodfield Nature Camps and the CAMH Foundation by creating a community based event that builds bonds, raises awareness and donates time and money to the cause.

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada's largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world's leading research centres in its field. CAMH is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and is a Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization Collaborating Centre.

With a dedicated staff of more than 5,000 physicians, clinicians, researchers, educators and support staff, CAMH offers outstanding clinical care to more than 38,000 patients each year. The organization conducts groundbreaking research, provides expert training to health care professionals and scientists, develops innovative health promotion and prevention strategies, and advocates on public policy issues at all levels of government. And through our Foundation, we're working to raise tens of millions of additional dollars to fund new programs and research and augment services.

Woodfield Nature Camps

Woodfield exclusively hosts family camps that are supported by their partner charity, Ronald McDonald House - SCO. The families that stay there have often endured weeks or months in hospitals, caring for children with various illnesses. Woodfield’s program allows them to escape the stark medical settings and come together in nature—a place where they can begin their emotional healing journeys.

Over the course of the 6 days, families have the option to participate in a range of activities and programs focused on health, wellness, and familial bonding. From yoga, breathwork, and drum circles, to nature walks with a pack of trained therapy goats—families leave Woodfield feeling rejuvenated, connected, and full of a newfound lightness.
